The Project

Each student will be assigned a Latin country to research. The final project is a PowerPoint containing specific information which will be presented before the class.

PowerPoint is designed as a presentation tool. Slides should not have too much information, but should instead use bullets to highlight the information given during the oral presentation. Most information should come from your mouth, not your slideshow. Do not be guilty of "death by PowerPoint bullets," too much information on each slide. Think about your audience!

Make each slide easy to read by using clear fonts, sharp color contrasts, and focused graphics.

Specific Slide Requirements
  • Title slide with name

  • Atributos (attributes and statistics)

  • Un foto y descripción de la bandera (photo and flag)

  • Historia Breve (short history)

  • Religión (religion)

  • Educación (education system)

  • Transportación (transportation)

  • Sistema De Defensa (military defense system)

  • Comidas Mayores (major foods)

  • Geografía (geography)

  • Clima (climate)

  • Recursos Natural Y Agricultura (natural resources and agriculture)

  • Fauna (wildlife)

  • Recreación/Deportes (recreation and leisure)

  • Quisiera Visitar (why visit)

  • Bibliografía (bibliography)

Overall PowerPoint Requirements
  • Minimum of sixteen slides.
  • Each slide must have at least five bullets.
  • Each slide must have a relevant picture with attribution.
  • All slides must have a background or slide design.
  • Slide show must be in ALL Spanish.

It is very important that you give credit to your sources of information. Keep track of where you find your information, and include that in your bibliography slide. The Citation Machine website is a great resource to help you create a proper citation. Do not forget to provide information on pictures used as well. This can be done directly beneath each graphic.
